Previously at the Palace: Princess Negatives and Baby Charlotte

In this series, we capture the biographical and major news posts from this date in previous years so that you can "catch up" on your favorites or reflect on some topics you might have missed. The first paragraph is included here; click the title to see the full post.

"Of course, a middle class woman marrying into a royal family has a number of fringe benefits that we ordinary folk can only dream about: access to fabulous jewels, the ability to travel around the world, designers dying to dress you, wealth and never-ending public attention. But, that’s just the upside. The trade-offs might make some would-be princesses decide to explore other career options."

Charlotte's second birthday. Taken by her mother in April
2017 at their family home in Norfolk.
"The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a much-anticipated baby girl this morning at 8:34 a.m., which was 3:34 a.m. for those of us on the U.S.-Canada Atlantic Coast. After the long wait, the big news happened while we were sleeping. Perhaps some of you West Coasters were still awake! Congratulations to the happy family! Now, let's take a look at other significant births on May 2."
